Smile Love It Might Never Happen is a three-part mini-series for BBC iPlayer, commissioned by BBC Arts. It is an offbeat take on the legendary shops featured in decades of TV comedies.
Broadcast in 2019 and made in Manchester - written in the beloved Star & Garter and filmed in an empty shop on Tib Street.
Smile Love It Might Never Happen was made by a 66% female crew. It was directed by Rebecca Rycroft (Horrible Histories, Gap Year) and edited by Jo Walker (VEEP, After Life). It is Executive Produced for the BBC by Lamia Dabboussy and for Eggs Collective by Sara Cocker, Lowri Evans and Léonie Higgins.
